Here is a quick checklist of what I learned after moving into my art studio in the Apple Store Gallery in April 2023. I am enchanted with the vibrancy and energy of the art gallery and artist studios.

* Wide range of local artists: The gallery not only showcases the work of resident artists, it also includes local artists from around Herefordshire, The Royal Forest of Dean, and the Welsh Borders. This means there is a unique and diverse range of art on show that reflects all aspects of the local culture and landscape.

* Variety of mediums: The gallery exhibits a wide variety of mediums, including paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, ceramics, textiles, and sculptures. Excellent environment for an adventurous artist type.

* Regular exhibitions: The gallery has a program of regular exhibitions, so there’s always something new to see and prepare for! The themed exhibitions generally change over every 1 to 2 months. The themes can be thought provoking and stretching for the artists. For instance, June 2024 sees an exhibition titled “The Painful Truth”, to be honest I have been 100% myself on this and kept it light with artwork titles of “Ladies and the last biscuit”, “All I want to see is dragonflies”, and “One for sorrow – goodbye my loyal companion”.

* Art Workshops: The gallery provides an invigorating calendar of art workshops, I am preparing to set up a workshop shortly on the wonders of doodling.

* Framing service: The gallery also offers a framing service, so useful to me as it’s the very last thing I consider when preparing for an exhibit.

Overall, the Apple Store Gallery is a great place to work / visit if you’re looking for an artist vibe and unique and affordable artwork in Hereford.

But don’t take my word for it, come along and see for yourself.

You can walk round my studio, now on the ground floor,  and see all my latest artworks, work in progress, and prints and cards of my most popular pieces. Take a look at my portfolio page for inspiration.
